Our New Home

Well, we've been living in Albuquerque for over a month now, and I'm finally going to post some pictures for all those people who have been asking! The weather here is great and it's just a nice calm city. I think Ken and I are both very happy we made the choice to come here! Now for the pictures... ignore how horrible/slanted/blurry they may be... My screen on my camera is broken so I can't see what I'm taking a picture of!! I did my best.

Here is our new home.... I think the style is so cute. I especially love the balconies.

Here is our view to the West... BEAUTIFUL SUNSETS!

And our view to the East... love the Sandia Mountains. And we're really grateful that the Mountains are still on the East side here! Helps us with our directions!

Here is our entry way...

Staying on the main level, there is a bathroom under that little niche, and then straight ahead you walk into the living room, kitchen and dining room.

And then here is the upstairs...

Spare bedroom... which has been feeling very lonely. Someone needs to come visit!

Spare bathroom

Office/Craft room... has this huge closet for all my craft stuff that I'm loving!
View from balcony off back of the house.
Master bedroom.

And my favorite part... the view from the balcony off our bedroom! Now I just need to find some good patio furniture so I can sit out there, drink some lemonade and watch the sun go down. :)

Still needs some work, but it's home and we are super happy here. More pics to come!

"It's the most wonderful time of the year!!"

I know when you hear that song, you normally think Christmas, but I LOVE Halloween! We've had a lot of fun these past few weeks...

Last night we went on a group date with Ken's friends. His friend Dallin's mom put together a scavenger hunt for everyone. It was so much fun! We came in second to last, but it was still a lot of fun

Dallin's mom put so much time into the clues. They all tied together into a story about a vampire looking for brides. There were nine in all and we went everywhere from Viewmont high school up to the Maverick on Shepherd Lane.

Our team members, Mckay and Janie!
When we made it back Ken and Mckay were embarrassed that we were second to last, but it was fun to hear everyone's stories and when we walked in the door Dallin's family had homemade chili waiting for us!

A few weeks ago we carved pumpkins with our friends Brooke and Carson...

Brooke made this... I think it was the Cheshire Cat. I thought it was cute, but Carson decided he needed to carve something else on the other side.
"Hearts, stars and horseshoes, clovers and blue moons. Pots of Gold and Rainbows, and me red balloons!" haha Clever Carson...

I just went with a black cat...

This past Thursday all the girls decided to have a girl's night Halloween Party! Danielle was being "creepy"...

Alyssa made us delicious pumpkin-chocolate chip cookies!!!

Brooke and I were the only ones that dressed up! Brooke was the Burger King guy and I was a tooth fairy!!!
Who says you can't play with your food?? I made a spider-web out of my seven layer dip!

Sunflowers and Sunsets

Last night Ken and I decided to go for a Sunday evening drive, so I decided to go by a field of sunflowers I had seen when going for a drive with Alli and Lexi last week. The sun was setting and it was so beautiful. I've always loved sunsets, but I've never really seen the beauty in sunflowers until now. My grandma always loved them, and I never really thought they were that great. I've been seeing them everywhere, though, especially this time of year. They really mean a lot more to me now. I told my family we need to go back up there in the next few weeks and take some family pictures.

Rise and shout!

Well, college football has started and so naturally Ken is glued to the tv even more than usual. So I was really grateful when his friend got us tickets to the BYU game so we could actually get out of the house! We had a lot of fun seeing old friends, shopping, getting shakes and sweet potato fries at Sammys, and BYU even won! It was a great weekend!

Livin' for the weekend...

When school was about to start, Ken and I both had the sad realization that we hadn't done many things with our summer. So we took off to my cabin for our last hurrah. It was so nice and relaxing to be out there in the middle of nature with nothing to do but to read and ride around on the four wheeler. Ken was pretty entertained by a deer living under the deck, and kept calling it Bambi and wanted to find a gun to shoot it... boys. His second favorite thing was keeping the fire going. I think it made him feel manly.

Engagements!

Well, Ken and I finally got our engagements done. Twice. I know he wanted to kill me but I decided that even though our first ones were so great, they just didn't go with the style of invitations I had chosen. So I dragged him to Salt Lake and we took one more round of pictures! They turned out fantastic- thanks to our wonderful photographer, my dad!
